The recent earthquake on 28 March 2025 that struck Myanmar (Burma) with a magnitude of 7.7, caused widespread devastation, particularly in central Myanmar and neighboring regions. Thousands of people have been confirmed dead, with the death toll continuing to rise as rescue operations unfold.
The earthquake caused severe structural damage to buildings, homes, and critical infrastructure. Many roads have been damaged or blocked, hindering rescue and relief efforts. Additionally, aftershocks continue to pose risks to survivors and rescue teams.
Urgent needs:
- Medical aid is a top priority, as hospitals and health facilities have been overwhelmed with casualties.
- Shelter is critical for those left homeless, with many displaced people seeking refuge in temporary camps.
- Food and clean water are in short supply, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Our project is aiming to help 100 homeless families living on the Inle Lake, by the Sasana Orphanage that we currenly support. Our goal is to donate 100,000 kyats (£35) per family so they can buy whatever they need.
Total Goal to reach: £3500.
